About the artist: Larissa Maddy Gruntjens
I am an artist based in Zurich, Switzerland.
I have always created. Before I understood why, before I had words for what I felt,
I expressed myself through movement, through images, through form.
Art has been a way to process, to make sense of what seemed to complex to explain.
Life has taken me through a journey of healing, of feeling deeply, and of learning to be with the full spectrum of the human experience, including the parts shaped by trauma, and return back to myself.
Over time, this evolved into a deeper exploration of the body, of emotion, and of what it means to be human.
Each of my paintings is a one-of-a-kind creation, employing diverse techniques, textures, and mediums in an intuitive, abstract style.
Deeply inspired by nature, inner landscapes, dreamscapes, and the subtle worlds we carry within us, my work reflects both light and shadow —
softness and intensity, fragmentation and becoming.
Some pieces move through darker themes, yet within them, there is always depth, meaning, and beauty.
My art is here to be felt. A reflection of life’s many phases, and an invitation to reconnect with your own inner world.

Larissa's Biography
Born with an innate sense of creativity, Larissa has been expressing herself through art since a young age. Always drawn to imaginative pursuits, she didn't limit herself to just painting but explored crafting and sewing as well. In school, her passion for art shone brightly, making it her favorite subject. However, she found herself struggling with the confines of strict instructions, preferring to let her creativity flow freely and intuitively.
After completing her education, Larissa embarked on a journey of exploration, traveling and experimenting with various creative outlets. Yet, a traumatic event at the beginning of her twenties brought her back to painting. Amidst trauma and the tumultuous journey of healing, painting became more than a hobby, it became a lifeline. Each piece became part of an inner dialogue, a translation of emotions that could not be spoken.
As her paintings began to accumulate within the walls of her home, it was her brother who first recognized the power of her creations. Encouraged by her family to share her work with the world, Larissa took a bold step forward and founded Lameria Art in 2023.
In 2024, she held her first exhibition in Zurich, a milestone that marked the beginning of bringing her inner world into a shared space.
Today, her work has evolved into a deeper exploration of the human experience, particularly the inner world of women. Themes of the body, emotion, sensuality, fragmentation, and healing are woven into her art, often shaped by her own lived experience and her journey through trauma and recovery.
Alongside her artistic work, Larissa is also trained in somatic and trauma-informed practices, which gently influence the way she creates and holds space, whether through art, photography, or embodied experiences.
Her work is an invitation to connect more deeply to the body, to emotion, and to the quiet, often unseen layers within.
